Advice - How good is this compressor?

I am going to invest in a new Airbush & Compressor and came across this on ebay - is it any good? - I am working with a tightish budget and am going for an Iwata airbrush as well as this so will essentially just be buying this for the compressor, or is the Tamiya airbush that comes with this good enough?

Any advice would be most welcome.

If you already have a 7.2v R/C car battery charger and a couple of batteries, sure it will do the job. If not, you'll have to buy them in addition before you can use it- so it would make more sense to find another option that you can plug into the wall instead.

There has to be a better way to get a compressor than Ebaying one from Hong Kong.... (19 quid to ship??)

While most Tamiya products are quite good, this one is very limited.
If you view the listing closely you will see that this is battery powered and does not come with a battery or charger. The price seems high as well.

Sean, do you have reasonable space at home? Or do you model on your dining room table?

If you have a dedicated hobby area I suggest you take the route I did and get a regular, DIY 24litre compressor. Really the noise is not an issue except for the 90 seconds it takes to fill the reservoir tank every 2-3 days.

Super pressure, ass a watertrap and your good to go and what's more itr's very useful around teh house/garden too!

nice piece of kit - I do have a dedicated area yes, so the noise wouldnt be a problem. How much did that compressor cost you if you dont mind me asking? I have decided not to go for the Tamiya Compressor - too limiting and the battery problem would be a pain.

I paid the equivalent of 50GBP I guess plus about another 10-15GBP for the (very good quality) water trap, long piece of clear air hose and the quick release fittings (I can't remember what they are called).

BTW my Lotus 25 FWMV book arrived yesterday :D Wow! Now THAT is a reference book for this car!

he is a seller in Germany and seems to be pretty good, I should be able to pick one up for about £50 including postage.

I'd say that's exactly it. Slightly different stickers etc. but essentially the same generic model.

Sorry I didn't reply before the end of the auction :( However, these compressors are as common as colds so I am sure you will find many more if you decide to go that route.
