Regarding this problem, is there any website that would have information, to include photo's, to change these items? I am having the same problem with my '99 Sportage. Blower does not work, but with engine on and fan speed switch on high, there is a slight change in engine speed. Whatever can be provided would be great.

WOuld be interesting to get some more details. I understand the "heater blower" does not work but the car "engine speed" changes....

ANyway here is the electrical diagram:

You can register at
www.kiatechinfo.com
to access all kia manuals. However the instructions to access blower motor are out of proportions. Several kiaowners have removed the motor unit just by crawling under the dash and taking s few bolts and nuts away and reported that is a good idea to remove some leaves and other debris from the inside of that area. I've not done it myself..yet.

Thanks for information. To provide additional info, blower worked only on high, then quit completely. I noticed during troubleshotting that when engine was running, and turned fan switch to high, there was a noticable change in engine speed, like there was a current draw somewhere causing the engine to slow down a bit.

I think you have a description of same problem here, and the way to go.

Could be motor OR the blower motor resistor that controls speeds of the motor. That is located right next to the blower motor itself.
