so, which one? i dont wanna overcam the lil 305, will choke itself unless i had it flying at 6000rpm...not a good idea. another thing, self aligning or not? i have my eye on these as well but w/ use of guideplates

any help would be appreciated. oh, both cams can use stock tc and stock or dual plane equiv intakes....please help me in choices!! for the savings will be about 40 or 50 bucks between the two kits...shippin to hawaii is killer!!!!!!

Both cams you're looking at are nice street cams. Both favor the exhaust side, which will help the 305 breathe. If your rear gear ratio is a 3.23 or numerically higher, I'd go with the second one listed. If you have a highway gear, 3.08 or numerically lower, I'd go with the first one. If you decide to change carbs, don't go bigger than a 600 CFM, or you'll lose all off-idle performance. Other easy mods are a distributor advance spring kit and higher voltage coil (Mallory or Accel). Headers will help it breathe, but if you're not running it over 5500 rpm, I'd pass on headers as they are a pain to keep form leaking and make spark plug changes a bigger hassle.

thanks man, but i got 3.73 posi stock, a pertronix 50k v flamethrower II hei dist, and i think i need headers for sure either way. oh, i already have an eddy 600cfm 1406, so im good all the way around! anywho... i think i will fix it up to sell it, but not too sure how to remove three layers of paint without blastin it off...which will go over my 1000 dollar budget here. so, i need paint (removal and cheap redo) a fender(25-100 bucks), the whole valve train (560 with shippin) , and rear shocks(30-50 bucks) for 1000...is it possible/ prolly not. i guess im going with the xe262 then!!! HELLO BURNOUTS!!!!! this will be nice!!! maybe i should forget the paint and just get the fender (blue to sorta match) and let whoever worry about paint.
