gauge cluster

I just installed a new cluster in my 92 civic cx, I wanted a tach. but the fuel gauge doesn't work and the cruise control light lights up like the old shift light did. Don't have c/c so I took care of the light, but would like a working gas gauge. It worked in the old car I took it out of but won't in the new one. Does anyone have any ideas or fixes.
