I picked up a set of silverado SS 20" rims, 5 spoke chrome... Now I dont know what size tire to get, either the 275/55 or 285/50... :banghead: any ideas or suggestions..... My spare is a 265/75/16, I really dont want to get a new spare since these rims are comming off in the winter....

Hey, sorry I dont have and answer for ya but I was wondering where you got the rims from because I was looking into getting a set? And also, how do you like for 8500K HIDs? I was going to order 8000K HIDs but wanted to see if people thought they were bright enough. Thanks

I bought the rims on Ebay... Keep an eye out when you by the rims some places sell the replicas, Not that its a bad thing but I would rather get GM OEM rims.... As for the HIDs the lower the Kelvin the brighter the light, 4300k (pure white) is the brightest HID you can buy. The higher the Kelvin the more color in the gases but they put out less light, for instance a 15000K(deep purple)although they look nice, is better suited for show use for the fact that they dont give off much light... IMO anywhere from 6000K(light blue) to 10000K (deep blue) is going to be a huge upgrade from stock halogen or any zenon bulb you can buy..... My Kit was completly plug and play the only thig to do was to mount the ballasts... Mine are 8500K and they are bright as hell!!!! :smokin:

Thanks for the info. I know someone that put 10000K in their tahoe and have been pulled over numerous times because the light is too "blue". So i figured 8000K would still be blueish and plenty bright. Thanks Again.

20x8.5
Well, they will be very close in overall height. The 285's will probably be more round; if that makes sense.

I'd probably go with the 275's, but that's me. Any plans on lowering?

I may drop a Leaf in the back but that would be it, I do need the ground clearance for the trails when I bring my quad out for a ride... I finally figured out how to convert the sizes to inches, a 295/50/20 would be almosr the exact size as my stock 265/75/16.... heightwise anyway..
Has anyone put a 295 on their truck, or any info about putting on a tire that wide in a 20 x 8.5" rim... any info would be great...

I've been lookin to put some SS wheels on my truck and use my existing tires. They're 275/45/R20 Yokohama geolanders and I've been told they'll fit fine.

Post some pics! I'd like to get an idea of what my truck will look like, whenever I can find some for less than $1k :banghead:

I have the rims, but im still waiting on 2 tires:banghead: :banghead: . I mounted the two that I have with 295/50/r20 General Grabbers... They Look Awsome.. I put them on in the front to see if they will rub.. perfect fit, I was tempted on driving with just the 2 on the front:grinno: . I will post some pics when I get the other two mounted and installed.
