I was wondering if the 4 cylinder 2.0 1995 Contour is prone to cracking heads. I think I need to change my head gasket and I want to know if its even going to be worth it or not. Thank you!!

Neither the zetec or duratec are prone to cracked heads but that doesnt mean it cant happen.

Ok, I just wanted to know if this was common or not. Cause I just bought the car and would be super pissed if it was a cracked head!! I'm not looking forward to replacing or buying the head gasket, but knowing this makes things a bit easier. Thank you. Oh and also, is there somewhere that I can get the head gasket kit for less than $200?

Well, im not sure how much the head gasket kit is normally, but Bill Jenkins and Steve Tousley who both work at dealerships give the members on contour.org discounts on OEM Ford parts.

That's good to know, thank you!! I priced the head gasket kit with the bolts and everything for around $208.
