Hi all, I just had to replace my keyless entry module and now my keyless entry pad on the driver's door won't work. I know how to program the remotes but I don't have any idea on how to do the keypad. Any suggestions? Thanks. GM 1994 4.6L v8

Hopefully before you installed the new module, you wrote down the keyless code that should be on it, this is your master code for that module. To program your own code Enter the master code on the key pad, with 5 seconds press 1/2 and with 5 seconds of that enter whatever 5 digit code you want.

I've got to ask you just where is the module?
I've got a 93 and need to find the module to get the code and have looked to no avail. All the stickers are gone from where they should be.
Thanks

The module is located in the passenger side firewall area. Open the glove compartment door all the way out. If you look to the right side you should see a small black box that it is inside the firewall. It is in an angle and it could have from 2-3 electrical plugs. Remove the plugs and a small screw that holds the box in place and you should be able to pull it out. The box have a white label with a number on it. This is your code. I have found the code also in the trunk area. If you open your trunk look at the edges close to the lock mechanism in the trunk. If you see a white label with a number try this number out. It works as long as the module hasn't been replaced and the label was updated.
I'm at work right now but when I get home tomorrow and can take a picture if you need a visual of where to look and how it looks.

Thanks for the quick reply!
I think I found the module behind the glove box.
It is mounted to a metal bracket partially recessed in the fender, has to plugs into the bottom of it and what looks like the antenna plug coming out of the side facing out, does this sound like what you are talking about?

You are right on the money Pete. I forgot the antenna plug but yes that's the one. Just remove the electrical plugs and the antenna plug. It might be easier to remove the bottom plastic cover underneath the dashboard to access it better. Good luck and keep me posted .

Gotta give a big thanks on this one:grinyes: !!!
Pulled it out this morning got the number and yes it works!!!
One thing though since messing around back there now when I turn the key on or start the car there is a seris of beeps coming from that area, any where from 3 to 6 sets of 5 beeps.:banghead:
Now I have read that thats the warning for an inoperative airbag,it wasn't beeping before I went behind the glove box but it is now.
I have no airbag light on my dash,do you have any clue as to whats going on.Thanks again for your help.

When the airbag light is inoperative, the system activates an audible tone indicator. If the airbag light was working before, you need to go back & see if you accidently knocked the connector out of the control unit or if the bulk connectors are completly snapped back in place.
The airbag control module is the blue box right near where you were working

I agree with this information. If anything looks normal then you may wanna check that the airbag light bulb in the instrument cluster is not blown.
I tried to remove it because I had a flashing code all the time and it started to beep the code. So I end up putting it back. Make sure that the light is good or that you didn't pull a plug or wire while working in that area. Good luck.

Yeah no airbag light on dash, but I don't remember if I ever had one,it's not soemething that I noticed.
Not into pulling dash apart right now so I unplugged the plug on the blue module and the beeping stopped for now.
I'll get into it when I have more time and feeling more motivated.
Thanks
Pete
