painting calipers

so i just bought a can of beige touchup paint for my car from Checker. the match is surprisingly good. anyway, i was thinking, maybe it would look good if i painted my calipers beige. any thoughts on this?

and is there any special way to go about doing this? what do i have to be certain that i cover with masking tape - i dont want to ruin my brakes or anything like that. so i guess i just take off the wheels and paint! i'm assuming i want many thin/light coats as opposed to just one big one.

To do this correctly (so it's permanent and won't look like shit), you must remove the caliper from the car and use very high temp paint. Your best bet is special paint for the purpose from Foliatec.

im waiting on my hvlp and im going to powder coat mine should be able to stand up the the heat with no prop i would think anyone tried this?

yea i know a guy taht powerdcoated his......they look great, and no probs as of yet.

Check the ads in the back of SCC.

you dont need to take the caliper off or anything like that. I did mine back in October of 2002 and it still looks great ... here is the entire process I used.
