:disappoinMy ranger has been sitting for right around 2 years now, and I just now got the time and money to put it back on the road. Well I put a battery in it (from my 94 probe) and it will crank but will not fire. I sprayed some starting fluid in it, and after I do that it starts for a second but shuts right off. Its almost like its not getting any gas, soooooo SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE!!!!:banghead:

see if you can here the fuel pump priming, it will be short right after you turn on the truck. if you dont think you hear it get a helper open the gas cap and have them do it and put your ear near the cap. check the schrader valve for fuel pressure. with your helper
and for fun check to see if you are getting spark, by yanking a plug and place it on the block and see if you can get a spark. (or by firmly grabbing the spark plug for electrocution fun)
then check the relay and fuse. in the engine compartment fuse box. then check the power relay cable to it both above it and below fuse box (some disassembly required) then check if the fuel pump is getting power at the gas tank.
if you are getting power to the pump but you have no pressure at the schrader valve then you need a new pump.
it would also help to know the engine size cause if it is a 2.3 then it maybe a broke timing belt.
