79/80 Malibu Wagon Roof - Help Needed

Hoping someone can tell me if under the roof chrome on a station wagon if there is still a "ribbed" section of steel formed into the roof metal. I want to take my chrome off but still want that ribbed look. Thanks for any help you can give me.

There has got to be or roof would not be sturdy, chrome is only for decoration I'm sure. The roof of your wagon is really pretty big so it must have something to stabilize it
