OK, so i can get this really nice pda for pretty cheap, but it has a windows based OS on it...and a most of the logger programs ive seen either say, laptop or PDA with Palm 3.5 or above. And im wondering since this is windows based, would it basically be considered a laptop? Basically, i just need to know if this will work or not for any logger program...thank you

No, Windows based PDA is not the same as a laptop. Will not work at all. It's a different platform. Windows CE (Mobile) whatever you want to call it, is no where close to the same architecture as a Windows machine.

There are some WindowsCE based programs. I forget what I use on my Palm, but they make a WindowsCE version of it also. It'll come to me in a couple minutes I bet.

I don't get what you're asking...are you asking if the PDA could be used as a laptop, or just as a logger?
If you just want to use it for a logger, than just find a program that runs off of Windows and you'll be set.

I was just wondering if there was a difference between a pda running a windows based OS and a pda running off of the palm OS. And there is, then i was wondering since the pda is windows based, if i could get a program thats meant for a windows based laptop and if it would work on the windows based pda. That sounds very confusing...lol, i hope you understand. So i guess i have to get a logger program that uses Windows CE...thanks for all you help

I have never seen a logger program that works on the Windows PDA OS. That doesn't mean they don't exist, but everything I have ever seen only works on a Palm OS.
I heard talk awhile back of someone attempting to use a Palm OS emulator on a windows based PDA so they could run logging software, but I don't know if it worked or not.

Ya as I said earlier... NO! Find a program that will work with your Windows Mobile device and use that.
I'm still looking for the one that I know of. Just can't remember the name yet.
