I'm not quite sure if my beetle is a 69 or a 70.
I'm looking to re-vamp my seats, but I dont know if i should buy stuff for a 69 or 70. Is there a difference between the seats?

To tell the year of your Bug, look at the VIN. The '69 will start out 119XXXX. The '70 will be 110XXXX. Another way to tell is by the front turn signals. '70s have the amber plastic part going almost all the way around the signal, while the '69s were only about 1/2 way and are smaller. Also, the '69 had a smooth rear engine deck lid, while the '70s had 2 sets of vents in the lid. The '70 also had side reflectors on the rear turn signals, while the '69 didn't. If the reflectors are missing, look for holes in the side of the signal housing.
Seats in the '68 and '69 are the same. They changed for '70 -'72. Both have relatively narrow head rests, about 10" across at the top. But the '68/'69 curved from the top of the seat down to the sides of the seat, while the '70-'72 headrest does down to the top of the seat, and then over to the sides.
Rear seats are the same.
