1998 Cavalier LS headlight issue

I have changed the headlight already on this car. It still doesnt work. I traced the wires back, what I could see, and there are no shorts. Help!!!:banghead:

Did you test to see if there was any power going to headlight ? Did you check the fuse?

yes, sure is. 10.7 V with car off, and between 12.6 and 13.2 with car running.:screwy: Mabe a bad wire, or two????

possibly a bad splice (corroding) in the wiring harness . you will have to follow wiring harness back from headlight . when you find a splice give it a good look and pull on it see if it comes apart. these cars are bad for headlight wiring. How`s the voltage at the battery ? it seems kind of low . Check your posts ,be sure they`re clean and tight.

Thanks, that's just what I did, and found 3 breaks in the ground wire, and 1 in the power wire. I have 2 lights again!!!!:grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes: :grinyes:

Does anyone know if this sort of wiring job is easy to do? By the discription of whats wrong and things that were checked, looks like i have the same issue. :banghead:
