stereo lock when battery unplugged?

i recently went to a garage to get my gas intake something replaced..the guy had to unplug the battery.. when i got my car back, the stereo doesnt work now.. i have a 2002 saturn sc.. i called him back and he said that in some cars, when u unplug the battery, the stereo will work and u need a code to unlock it. have u guys ever come across this?

not personally, but yes, it happens on newer cars.

yep, many newer cars have stereos that must a have a code put in if the power is disrupted.

contact your dealer give them the vin number they will givr you the code to unlock the radio
or check the books in the glovebox that came with the vehicle there will be a card with the unlock code there
