I had to replace the intake gaskit because of a water leak. Prior to replacing I had p0123 and 1345. After a week the p0123 cleared but I have been unable to remove the 1345. I have a reader but not one that can read the cam/crank relationship so I took to Firestone mech and he indicated I was off 20 deg. I removed distr and moved one tooth which seemed to help. Am scheduled to go back to reset the timing. ? I have read that dist drive gear wear can cause the same code as well as a worn dist shaft. If setting timing does not eliminate code should I replace the dist with a rebuilt unit?

What engine?
Is the dist turnable or is it a locked clamp?
Was the dist turnable enough to bring it back to 0 degrees.
For setting the dist try this.

Also if the dist gear is off 180 degrees it will make them hard to set.
Let us know how it goes.

If you get it set right according to the picture you should be able to adjust it in after engine is running.
But remember the engine has to be over 1000 rpm for the new adjustment to show on scanner.
Good luck

I've had pretty good luck turning the engine until the CKP is on, then setting the CMP to the leading edge of the ON window.
If the distributor were off one tooth, that would equate to about 51.5º of timing at the crank.
