Hi, does anyone know a good place where I can get my superchrager rebuilt? (rattling sound inside).
I am in Mississauga ON.
There are places in the US, but would much rather put $$ back in CAN.
I need to know someone, somewhere where they do a full supercharger rebuild.
Please let me know,
Thanks....
Frank..

How many miles or kms do you have? The rattling sound is a bad coupler. It doesn't mean the SC needs a rebuild. At the same time you will be replacing the oil. Use GM supercharger oil only. Not sure where you can get the coupler in Canada but the SC oil is available at the GM dealer.

I have 230 000kms. I have been told that the coupler is a sign that the supercharger /can/will seize. It is a pretty loud rattling noise.
I have also been informed that the coupler goes bad for the reason that the ballbearings have also goone bad and that the chroming has probably come off them and into the supercharger oil, thus affecting the coupler as well.
Has anyone ever only changed the coupler, and not had any future issues?

The rattling sound is classic bad coupler and speculation on the other part.
All the coupler does is couple the snout drive to the main body impeller drive. If left unattended it could cause a seizure. The OEM couplers were of a poor design and a new coupler came out to replace it years ago. Not because the snout bearings are bad which is a different issue. With your mileage (140K miles), I would as a minimum get the coupler replaced with the improved one and replace the snout bearings to include seal. When the snout is removed you will be able to inspect for metal shavings to make a further assessment.
The problem you may get into with a full rebuild of an Eaton M90 Gen3 blower is parts availability, labor costs and someone that is capable/competent of doing the rebuild properly. By the time you add up all parts and labor cost you will be able to get a complete new M90 for the cost.

I was thinking of going with a rebulid from -> PSE Superchargers.
http://www.psesuperchargers.com/
It comes out to less than $600 CAN with the core returned.
It also has a lifetime warranty.
I talked to one of their techs and they advised that if the coupler is bad, then there is most likely reason to suspect that the bearings are going bas as well.
Please take a peek, as I am grateful for any/all advice.

So thats about $520 USD not including shipping charges. I've heard of the company before but never done business with them. Located in the U.S.
Suspect? When I did my coupler replacement, of course DIY, all my bearings looked good. That sounds more like a punch line so they can justify the expensive cost. For another $100-$150 USD you can get a brand spanking new blower. I've seen Eaton M90 Gen3 rebuilds available for under $300 after core exchange. I haven't had time to look at the complete web site but what parts are they guaranteeing have been replaced during the rebuild process? The decision is yours. Good luck.

Thank you for all your help everyone.
I will be crunching some numbers this weekend.
The rattle is pretty loud and as well i have some bearing noise.
So I will most likely opt for getting this done.
I really do appreciate all that have sent your input.
Regards,
Frank
