Where do I find 12V PLC's suitable for automotive use?

As in a Programed Logic Controller?

We have 12 volt ones at work, running our Shredder. The PLC runs on 12 volts anyway, I have no idea how it controls the 400volt electric motors, I think its through large relays.

That's what I'm looking for.

Do you know the brand and model of them?

I'll have a look, but I'm sure they are fairly common type av liable from most trade suppliers.

Allen Bradley makes PLCs: http://www.ab.com/en/epub/catalogs/12762/2181376/2416247/1239730/5862592/

You need to be sure of the servie-- Underhood conditions are very extreme. In driver's compartment is better but still may be extreme for some.

Really?
I'm pretty sure our sparky sourced one from them.

I havn't had a chance to open the shredder cabinet yet, but when I do I'll you know.
How complex a PLC are you looking for? Ours are pretty complex controllers running custom software from a company in Chch.

I forgot to mention I live on the wet coast. Here they're about 10 years behind. I might give Ideal in Chch a call.

If I can find such a suitable unit, it'll be used at different times for all sorts.
Variable vane turbo control.
Traction control
General 12v switching
Monitoring and recording pressure and temps throughout intake and exhaust etc.

Cheers for that.
The price is reasonable and I've been able to find a regional supplier.:iceslolan

Have you tried calling fisher and paykel?

They have a pretty good customer service center, which should be able to put you in touch with their repair/service support services.

HI Kiwwi here is a website that sells 12volt programmable controllers they are one piece, that is cpu input and output all in one and reliable here is the website, http://www.attr.com/x10/FX2N14.htm
i have not bought from this company, but you can get more information on them. other places have them too with diferent brands like AB,but this i have used and is easy for a feed back aplication like on a hidrogen acceleration fedback loop( wich i asssume you are wanting)
good luck

Thanks.

The plan is to run a variable vane turbo and other data logging from it. Still not sure if that's the best device for the job, but it'll be a while before I get back to that project.
Thanks for the link.
