Hey guys,

I’m looking for software I can merge with my car and laptop to monitor things like boost, mpg, mph, and anything else possible.

Maybe I’m alone in feeling that technology is taking forever to penetrate the auto motive industry.

If any ones can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Thanks

taking forever to penetrate the auto industry?

have you been living under a rock? just about all modern cars show that info.

mph - speedometer. seriously, did you have to ask?
mpg - most cars have a little screen on the instrument cluster that shows this among other things
boost - boost gauges are cheap and easy to install, many stock turbo cars have a boost gauge as standard.

I assume you're looking for more than a stand-alone datalogger, you want to see what the computer see's.

Depending on the car, it may or may not pay attention to all of that. there are several OBD2 kits for laptops, but that would be relatively small amount of info. You are looking for manufacture specific data streams, and you will have a hard time finding that in a pre-built kit.

Stand alone data loggers are definitely availible, but you're talking some serious dough to monitor all that stuff and format it

Dude...

Relax. I haven’t been living under a rock I was just trying to get some info on what’s out there. The mph, mpg, and other stuff is kids play. I was more interested in something like this... http://www.maxqdata.com/ (http://www.maxqdata.com/) . And seriously if you think I want to look at a cheap boost gauge...you must be the one living under a rock. but thank you.
