your very own theme song

If you could get anyone (or group, or band, etc...) to write for you your very own theme song, who would you choose? Would it have lyrics?

:D

Sebastian Bach :licker: and yes it would definitely have lyrics just so I could listen to him sing. :D

Theres a few bands I pick from.

Disturbed, Korn, Linkin Park, Gravity Kills.

I would have an enya / Linkin Park mix. The song wouldn't be all lyrics, but it would have a verse or 2.

I was going to say Faith No More...
(They could do the instrumental for the incidental music too...)

BUT

I have been thinking about it and I'd like it to by Bic Runga.

I'd like to have it sung at dawn on the shores of Takapuna Beach as the sun rises over Rangitoto Island on a sunny summer morning. With the waves gently breaking across the white sand... with just Bic, her acoustic guitar, a big colorful towel for her to sit on, a bowl of fresh fruit, some freshly baked bread and antipasto platter - and maybe some piping hot coffee and some OJ.

I can hear the song.

She doesn't have to even write it for me especially - because she's never met me - though I have met her sister Bo and the rest of Bo's band Stellar*.

But I know I'd be happy if I just settled for one of Bic's first songs... a beautiful song called 'Sway.'

That'll do...

I'm torn between Danny Elfman and David Bowie. :coolguy: I think I'm favoring Elfman.

:ylsuper I'm going to go with Maynard James Keenan and the boys from TOOL, or else I'll just let Chris Cornell (formerly of Soundgarden and Audio Slave) handle it by himself. I think they'd get the right feel, and probably nail some great lyrics to go with it.

Chris Cornell defentally

If not then Metallica, like how they did "mama said" or "turn the page" (Turn the page being a cover)

Or maby Chevelle, They are pretty new and I really like their song "red"

MASS GOOD BANDS!

:ylsuper

HELL YAH!

:ylsuper Metallica just doesn't get it done for me as my theme song writer. I liked their sound on ...And Justice For All by far the best of all their albums, but that sound would be a little too dark for my theme. Chevelle.. not enough innovation. I too like The Red, but its not exactly what I would call a very original piece. Many of you know that I am a huge Slipknot fan (notice the avatar?), but for my theme, nah, that would just be way too heavy.

However, I am very disappointed in myself that in my first post I forgot to list MUDVAYNE as another strong candidate. Given the lyrics to Severed and Prod, I have little doubt that they in particular can relate to my view on the world, and represent me well in a theme soing.

I've lived a dark life sooo :D

True, Chevelle isnt too origional, I got off track and thought of sound not lyrics. Chris Cornell defentally has the right lyrics, but the sounds of Several different bands, from all types of music would be required to make my life into song. Mudvayne...I was sposto see them live...but they cancled  After that I stoped liking them as much

Haddaway :D

Daft Punk would be a good one too. Not sure if I'd want lyrics or not, cause if I change (just through normal maturity) the lyrics may not be always accurate...

I was going to say brave brave sir robins minstrels...:( I watched it last night again, BUT I think I'd have it be a sick techno mix of Manu Chao's King of the bongos.

Hmm this is a hard one!

For a theme song Im thinking either Pink Floyd, or Chris Knox.

But I also like the idea of Lisa Lobe or shirly manson from Garbage writing me a more meaningfull song.

However all that said I already have my own theme song.

Kiwi band Fur Patrol have a song called "Andrew"
I have an ex who was "so wrong!"
