modelers Clear Decal Sheets with HP4500

Guys, I like to know anyone of you tried to use Clear Decal Sheets from Modelers before? The place I work has a HP Laserjet 4500 color printer, I am not sure whether this decal sheet can be supported by it? Your experience is appreciated.

if it were me, id try to print a little something on the paper and see if it runs or smudges when you try to apply it. from what i understand, laser printers are better than ink jet printers since they have less chance of running. if you use an ink jet printer, they suggest spraying something over it to prevent running or spreading of the ink. It's called liquid decal solution or somthing to that effect. hope that helps. i plan on using a color laser printer on some clear decal sheets as well soon too.

I saw the modelers decal sheet in one of the hobby shop here, and it says it requires a Thermal Printer.......but as I searched around the internet, it seems color laser printer and color laser copier can print on those decal sheet as well......I think it is worth to try as just 500yen VS 1600yen Studio 27 decals ......:flipa:

i think Modelers are made for Micro-Dry printers such as Alps, but you still can print them on ink jets, ive tried it a few time with Microscales. just besure to spray an acrylic dull coat onto the decal sheet for the ink to bite onto.

but you have to buy those in bulk.

What if I used a Ink Jet, but spray that "decal solution" on it?? Will this work?

I just bought the Modellers Decal paper today (cost at USD4.00) . It comes with 2x B5 decal sheets......I am gonna make some good graphics and test to print next tuesday using the HP4500 Color Laserjet printer at office :D :D :D :D

nope, you should spray it with an acrylic dull coat then after youve printed the pattern seal it with a liquid decal film.
