DAMNIT!!!!!! dumb ass people!!

Well. I am driving down the road right.. its raining cold water the road is really wet.. and i am just driving the one lane road turns into a 2 lane road about 40 feet before a intersection and the car in front of me is going like 20 miles an hour in a 30.. so i pass him on the right side (in the new lane) and i get going like 40 (the normal speed to traval on that road) and as i am aproching the intersection the mother fucker in the turn lane that is facing me decides he wants to go!!!!! and of course after he gets into the middle of the fucking intersection he decides its probably a bad idea to turn so he stops right in my lane!!! i slamed on the brakes but it didnt matter i fucking T boned that son of a bitch! his air bags went off.. and was so pissed!! do you know how many fucking hours i have into my damn car!! RHD conversion is very very very time consuming!! and lots of money!! my brand new FMIC is now smashed into the radiator and not that i want to but i dont think it is possible to get out out of the radiator...
then the guy gets out and is like ahhh my back!! and i was like fuck you peice of shit! i was about to kick the shit out of him.. but then i calmed down and relized ok.. i dont have to pay for anything.. and i get a new 99 Conversion if they dont total it out.. and i work at the dealership.. so i get every thing way cheep! so i can pocket some money too.. and if they do.. i am going to fight and fight to get some money out of it and i am going to go by my RX7..
the guy was telling the oficer i was going 80 mph haha the oficer just looked at him and was like.. yeah.. ok.. and then he comes up to me and we find out that the ticket i payed over the phone (that has cleared my bank account now) didnt show up as paid and was now a warrent.. so then then i call my ex girl friend.. and she is on a date with some guy and they bolth come to and the guy she was with pulled out money from an atm to bail me out (that sucks ass) because they only take cash!!.. AHHHHHH!!!!!

Man that sucks, you barely even got to enjoy the RHD! Didn't you just finish that not too long ago?

I've never been in any accidents *knock on wood* but I have people cutting me off and trying to change lanes on top of me all the time. The place I live is notorious for bad drivers though.

You had right of way, he was the one turning, so it's up to him to decide when it is safe to turn...seems like a no-brainer to me. If I were you, I'd make sure my neck adn back were ok (cough, hint, cough). If the guy wants to pull that crap, I'd be doing him one better...lying on the ground waiting for a strecher. Yeah i made a claim against his insurance company and they said they have to get a copy of the police report to find whos falt it is.. because the guy is saying it is my fault.. and he has witenesses (with jerking off motion) The witnesses are his friends and i told them that and he said if that is true and they say that in the recodred interview then every thing is disregarded.. but even then i dont know what they could say to make it my fault.. they didnt take any pictures or anything..

i agree. its not the place of the insurance company to cast blame, but rather that of the police officer. its a pretty clear cut case: you had the right of way, therefore its his fault. don't let these bastards screw you over and take advantage of you. as Igovert said, if they claim injury, make sure to one-up them.

Find out when his court date is, and see if you can go in and act as a witness against him. Make sure his ticket doesn't get tossed/reduced, but that the ticket holds up, there isn't much he can do to claim it's your fault when he has a failure to yield ticket and you don't have a speeding ticket or anything.

SCORE! ok the guys insurance company called me and they are going to cover it all! so they are payin for my rental car. and they are towing the car down the place of my choice then they are going to send a guy down to see how much it will be to fix..

I am going to do a right up of parts that they are going to have to order from japan cause they will miss then if I dont.. I am going to do the 99 conversion but I am making sure they know the lights "have to come from japan" and stuff like that

well.. the claim ajuster came out today.. he decided its totalled... (I want to cry)... I will post some pictures when i get a free minute.. as for the price.. he called me and was like well it looks like a half finished project to me.. and i was like.. huh.. its finished.. I took some stuff out to be cleaned prior to the accident.. (the carpet and two side door panals and back seat) I was like its all in my garage (and it is) and he was like.. ok.. then he asked me a bunch of questions about what stuff it had.. air bags.. crome wheels.. tilt wheel.. ext and after he was like well I can add this up and give you a price in a few minuts want me to call you back!! and i was like wow wow wow.. what is the goal we are trying to get to? and he was like to find the fair market value of the car.. and i was like ok.. so there are some questions you didnt ask me.. and i started naming off things like FMIC and Brand new clutch!!! and MSD and boost gauge and MBC and JDM dash and new motor!! (i found the recipt for the pistons and crank!! ) and i was like fair marked value of this car is not a regular 3000gt.. this is a one of a kind! this is the only RHD VR-4 in the united states that is streat leagle!! THE ONLY ONE IN THE FREAKING US!!!! So he said he will hire a 3rd party to find the apropriate amount (what ever the hell that means).. any ideas?? I am 18K into this car right now.. I need to get into the teens at least!! any ideas would be great!

when he said "3rd party", i hope he means some group like a car collector's agency, ya know people who specialize in appraising collectable old cars. you might call and ask him what exactly he meant and WHO the 3rd party will be. it would be great if you could get some input on the 3rd party, so you might call around (and google) these kinds of specialized appraisal groups.

Hate to say it but you will be lucky to even get 10k out of this. Best bet is to get as much as you can, buy it back and part it to recoup the remainder of your losses.

Ok.. so here is my game plan.. i am going to wait for his offer (on tuesday).. I am going to get it as high as I can.. (turn down his offers untill then) and when it gets as high as i think it is going to get, then I am going to just explain that i know i am not going to get what i am into this thing out of it and tell him i will make a one time deal.. give me a check for that amount and give me the car back as parts.. I have no idea if they will go for it.. but hey.. its worth the shot.. then here is my plan all the parts that got messed up where my
hood
pop up lights
light buckets (where head lights sit)
FMIC (pipes are still good)
radiator
cooling fans
engine fuse box is a little messed up but not to bad

I still have my clip.. and all the parts but a new hood and popups and fmic!!
It didnt do any thing to the frame as far as i can tell and the damage really isnt that much... find some pop ups on ebay for like 150.. and order a carbin fiber hood.. and boom! its done.. drivable again.. how much do you think I could get for this with the salvaged title?

Well, if you don't want a salvaged title you could ask them what the most they would pay to repair the car and then tell them that you'll take that and pay the difference out of your own pocket.

Thats the best way. They arn't going to give you jack for your parts and you have 18K into this thing. Take what they give you in repairs but GET THAT CAR BACK and fix it yourself so you can keep a clean title. Odds are they totaled the car baised on fair market value, which everyone knows is only fair if your an insurance company. When it comes to insurance no one is looking out for you so you have to be a jerk to them to get anything taken care of right.

To be honest.. the thought of putting more time into the car makes me SICK! (probably worth it but sick).. as for money.. they would probably give me what lets say 7grand for a regular 92 vr4?.. In the last 2 months i just put in the FMIC and clutch and flywheel.. and being that new i am almost positive that they have to cover those compleatly.. 850(fmic)+1195(clutch and flywheel)=2045+7000=9045.. then I have no idea how every thing else is going to pan out.. I am an extream optamist.. but i would say easy getting 12k for it..
I also talked to my good friend that had is RX7 in a shop that burn't to the ground.. the insurance offered him 18k for it (his was built perfectly.. no joke.. it was amazing).. he told them no.. and then they decided to do this third party thing.. and he stept in and was like wait you guys don't get to pick the third party.. so they let him pick out of a handful of qualified shops that deal with RX7's. The shop came up with 38,000.. the insurance freaked! long story short he got 31,000 (much better then 18).. so I want to see about doing something similar.. maybe sending the list of mods and stuff to 3sx and having them decided fair marked value?!?

You took the words out of my mouth tell them if they go third party you will give them a list of qualified shops that could apraise the car for what its real value would be other then some ho hum shop. Try 3sx,DR,IPS, maybe deftracing. Just hit up 3si and ask around for qualifed shops find some locals then hit a few big ones up like DR and 3sx.

Also when you do this dont forget to have the shop quote you the price of the conversion even though you did it have them include it. B/c if you dont insurance will be like shhh we can a few thousand if we dont tell him.

I was speachless.. anyways long story short he is calling a bunch of places that i gave him numbers too (all have to be in utah so 3sx and dynamic ect wont work) call and ask how much they could sell them for.. he said that the RHD lowered the value of the car..

Why do they have to be in utah? I got a feeling this is gonna get ugly did you atleast give him the numbers to some tuner shops or somthing of the like? Why not have a car appraiser come and apraise it?? Call and ask them if you had sombody appraise it would that work.

It has to be far marked value in utah.. but yeah they are calling the dealership i work at!! and a turner shop that knows a lot about Importing cars and stuff he has done 3 skylines and 2 silvias and a evo5.. and calling a shop that i have had do alot of things for me on my other cars.. so we will see

Because most insurance companies don't know jack and will do anything they can to screw you over b/c the goverment says they can. You have to have car insurance so that gives them the right to fuck you out of every thing they can. Imagine if we didn't have to have it how nice they would be.

well i have got good news.. and bad news... the manager went up to look at my car.. and decided it was a total loss.. in otherwords.. salvaged.. but the good news is they made me there second offer.... 12,800... and then i would have to buy the car back.. for somewhere around 8 hundred bucks.. havnt set that price in yet.. but i have got to say.. that is a hell of a lot better then freakin 6,900 but now i am not sure what i am going to do.. they where telling me that they didnt think they where going to total it out.. they where thinking that they could get it fixed for less.. but.. i guess not.. so here we are.. should i turn them down and ask for more money? every one told them that the value of the car is around 15k.. even the dealers that i didnt know.. what do you guys think?? oh and its been almost a full month @ 30 bucks a day for a rental.. and i get to pocket all that cause i have a "rental" through work that i dont have to pay for but they are making me an invoice showing that i do.. haha so thats an extra 900 bucks... i dont know guys what do you think?

do you plan on selling the car in the future? obviously, having a salvage title sucks...but if youre not going to sell the car it really doesnt matter.

12800 does seem low and trying to get more never hurts, but you'll have 12000 after buying it back to do whatever...fix and upgrade, or fix and buy a nice little used civic or something as a dailydriver.

for my :2cents:, i would make 1 last effort for a little more money, but take what they give. fix it up really nice, maybe with a 99 conv., get a reliable daily driver, and look for either someone selling a parts car that you can basically claim the vin plate off of, making it so you dont have a salvage title.

I can bring a GTO here and get it registered no problem.. it would take me about 6 weeks to get the title and registration.. and it would cost about 4000 dollers.. i can also do it the slow way for about 1000 but it takes about 6 months.. It is rather easy out here in utah.. maybe its harder where you are from stealthee

I am kinda with you on that one.. they way i am thinking about it is.. all the time that it takes me to get what.. 2000 more.. i could take my 12,800 and turn it into 15 no problem.. you know.. i bet i could take 12,800 and turn it into 17,000 faster then i would get the insurance to pay me 15,000.. (a month)

And the 800 buy back.. is now 2400 bucks!! ahhh so thats a tuff choice.. haha i think i am going to get it back anyways.. just cause i have like every thing to fix it.. and i am in freakin love with my car.. I also went for the last little bit of money.. i told him that if he can get me a check today.. for 13,500 i will sign his paper and this crap will be over.. he told me he could probably do it.. he called his manager.. and his manager said no.. so.. yeah.. i know there is more money out there that they are not telling me about.. its getting to it and all the time and energy that would take..

Its a Federal thing. Gatecrasher on 3si has done extensive research into it. Getting one here isnt much of an issue. Getting it legal will never happen.
