I have a new engine with a mech. fuel pump. The gas lines has the main line and a vapor retun line, the new fuel pump has nothing there for a vapor retun. What is the vapro return for, can I just discinnect that hose completly?

If you are going from a electric fuel pump tank to a mech. pump on the engine.
It would be wise to use a tank set up for mech. fuel pump.

Thats the thing, I don't have an elcetric fuel pump. UNless I am wrong I don't think those models came with one. 1972 CHevy P/U
The old motor had a mech fuel pump with it, but had an main fuel line, the retun/vapor line, and the line going to the carb.
the new fuel pump has a mech. fuel pump with main fuel in and fuel out to the carb. No vapro/return line.
Seems to me if the vapro line is used for just vapor and unused fuel I could clamp it off with no problem. The 70 and 71 model trucks ran fine with out them. I just want a second opinion b-4 I clamp it out.
easier than changeing the pump it self.

It would be better to put it back as was.
The extra line of the fuep pump is a extra fuel pressure return.
Carb may have to much fuel pressure with it pluged off or the wrong fuel pump on it.
Good Luck
