It all depends on what kind of spray paint they used... if it's flaking off, it's cheap crap and should come off pretty easy with some clean up paint thinner... if it's not flaking off and doesn't look like it will easily, you should probably seek professional help or risk ruining your new glove box......

or just paint it black.... Krylon plastic paint is the best stuff ever for painting plastic or over old spray paint... chemically bonds to plastics of all sorts, and does not come off.

why not just paint it using a base clear process to insure its high gloss lasting finish. unless you just want it to look stock again.

Thinner will melt the plastic.

They sell plastic interior paint, use that, or find another junkyard.

Painted vents improve airflow thus your blower motor doesn't have to work as hard. Therefor it draws less current and more current can be dedicated to the ignition coil producing a better spark and ultimatly MORE HP Yo0o0o! -The Educated Ricer.

DO NOT use paint thinner and any paint remover....

If it doesnt melt the plastic, it will DEFINATLY peel all the gloss off the plastic thus leaving your glovebox with a ugly residue that wont come off... It will look worse than the ricer's paint job.

Sand it, Prime it, and re-paint it with Krylon matte finish paint. If you take your time and do it right you wont even be able to tell it's been painted.
