K, heres the sitiation: as many of you know, i have a crappily fitting blitz style front end on my car, which doesnt have holes cut out for the bumper lenses. I didnt think this was gonna be a problem until the other day when I decided to take them out because i didnt want the bulbs plugged in when they were just sitting there on my metal bumper. But when i take them out my turn signals do the fast flashy thing, which is sooo gay and embarassing. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to how i can make the fast flashes go away. Thanx all

If u don't have sidemarkers then u could install some & run the wires to them & keep the circuit intact so they won't flash fast. That's the first thing that came 2 mind.

I'd rather not put side markers on my car, sounds like too much work. I just want the fast flashing to go away quickly and easily.

Well, someone did a write-up on how to make your flashers faster by changing out a resistor in the flasher circuit for a lower ohm one. I imagine the opposite effect could be achieved by adding a higher value resistor...

I think it was KB Slacker who wrote it, but I don't have the link for it...

You need to remove the flasher relay. It should be similar to this:

Open up the flasher and look for this resistor:

You will need to change this resistor to make your signal blink faster, or slower. The resistance is around 90K If you want to make your signal blink twice as fast as stock, then you would replace the resistor with a 45K.

The lower the resistance, the faster it will blink.

But his problem sounds like a short.

Hmmm......this all sounds very difficult. Maybe ill just put the bulbs back, hopefully no fires will occur. :D

why not relocate the turn signal bulbs in your corners? I did this to my old CRX since i had shaved the turn signal holes on my WW body kit.

Well it actually most closely resembles an "open", not a "short" :finger:
