Question about turning off front signals

I tried doing a search but cant find the right words to use for the search

my question is...

is there a way to turn off the front signals for the 99-00 gen civic's when the headlights are on? (mainly because my side bulbs look really dim since I blackhoused the reflector) Basically i want to turn off my turn signals only when it's not turning

Thanks

Actually, I would tell you but mine is a 98 and the wiring harness is probably different.

hahah ... was it hard to do what you did to the blinkers?

Since your bulb has two filaments (5W and 21W) you will disable the power supply feeding the 5W -> this powers the so-called 'Parking Lights'
the 21W filament is responsible for your turn signal 'blink'.

You have to unscrew the bulb+socket from the inside. You will find that you have three wires attached to it.
I believe the colors should be green, red, and black.

I know that the black is the ground, try snipping either the green or the red (you make the call). You have a 50% chance of guessing right. Then, try turning on your headlights, to see if the corner light turns on. If it does congratulations, if it doesn't connect the cut wire and cut the other one.

Hope this helps,
Kuba

I never heard of that way but I guess that would work for your 99-00. The way I did it dealt with crossing wires on the stearing column and it was the easiest thing I did so far. The way this guy describes sounds fine.
