2000, 3.5L. I'm looking for plugs for my Intrigue. Which ones should I get? I wanted to stick with AC delco but they seem to be about $10.99 at places like advanceautoparts.com. $70 for plugs is stupid. I'm thinking closer to $5 a plug is more reasonable. Could I just order them from gmpartsdirect for a better price? If so what is the part #? Also what is the tq spec for them? This is waaay overdue for my ride. Thanks in advance.

The only advice I have for brand is to avoid Bosch plugs.
Im am running NGKs and so are several other members here with no problems. AC Delco makes NGK or NGK makes AC Delco, one or the other I cant remember which.
I would say Autolites would be a good choice also, stock plugs are platinum, but I dont know if switching plug types would cause any problems or not.
Be sure you put anti-seize on the spark plug threads, if not they will bond to the aluminum heads and itll most likely be the last set of spark plugs you ever put in the engine.
Have you changed the plugs on this engine before? Its a real hoot!
Torque spec is 15 ft. lbs in the Chiltons.

I haven't changed them before. I'm guessing the plugs on the back side will be fun. I'll go with the NGK. Thanks.

I learned a lesson the hard way and it cost me over $500 to correct. At the time I thought the same as you and went out and installed champion plugs. After a year the engine started missing and the engine light went on. I took it to the delear and the 1st thing they check is the type of plugs are in the engine. Stck to the orginal and be happy

I recommend rotating the engine forward, it gives you a couple more inches of space, and changes the angle that you have to work with, makes the back ones MUCH easier.

Theres a thread discussing my spark plug change, if youll notice, I mentioned the gap in the Chiltons and the owners manual was different, so I went with the manual and gapped them at .50

I'm not going to be able to rotate the engine forward so I hope its not too big of a problem. Those are some good pics on that link, thanks.

its not to bad, after you get the boot aout. i used a pair of needle nose and made sure i was way down on it so it didnt rip. the only tough part is i cant see anything back there so i had to do it by feel. about plug type, my car was running bad b4 i put the bosch in, so i dunno how bad they are. ill post on this thread when i get car going if the plugs were part of the problem.
also my gap is set to 60, i will try the 50 like the guy recomended and see if there is a difference.
