i took the bezel out today to take out the crappy glow gauges the previous owner had in, after i got them off i put the needle back on the tac. when i put it in acc the tac jumps to 3k, when i start it she idles at 4500. it's quite annoying. any remedies?

I'm guessing you just pulled the needle off and put it back on. It works from a spring and you have to mark off where you pulled the needle off. 3k really means 1k, and when you idle at 4,500 that really means 1,500. I would reccommend turning the car on so the tac is working, then pull off the needle and reattach it in the right spot, which would be wherever your car normally idles at when it's started.

?? if 3k was 1k... then 4.5k would be 2.5k... if i am not mistaken.. and if that is the case i dont think that it is your needle..

i think he meant 3k would be the bottom of the tach normally...or "0k", which would make sense if it jumps there when he turns the ignition on

Yea you can't really calibrate the needle without the Acc on because it won't won't work in his case. I meant with the car on the 3k mark would be about 1k and 4500 would mean 1500
