Strut, bushing, or swaybar?

My Eclipse loses control easily when i hit a rough spot in the road and it loses control majorly in the rain. I'm thinking it could be one of the three: strut, bushing, or the sway bar. Can anyone help me and tell me what the problem is?

First things first before you go replacing anything expensive... Are all your tires worn evenly and also is your car in alignment? Most people quickly overlook these simple things and jump right to immediate suspension problems, but those two problems cause a lot of disruption in your vehicles handling...

i'm mostly curious how you are losing control. is it oversteer, understeer, are you all out spinning? how fast are you going??

i hope you know that you do lose control more easily in the rain anyways.

if you get ass slap overstear then its 1 of 2 things, lots of body roll, or too stiff in the rear. if you know you have soft as shit springs/shocks, upgrade or get a stiffer sway bar. If it's too stiff then you probably already have aftermarket suspension, and you need to soften it up a little. HOWEVER, this should only make sense if you are trying to take high G turns. If you are driving in a str8 line then you should not notice any decline in traction regardless if its wet or dry. Our cars have a tendancy (as with any FWD cars) to understeer (push), or if you are in a long sweeping turn to snap overstear without warning (at least my car does). Please inform us what exactly is going on, and like I said, pushing is normal especially in the rain, but if you are just driving str8 and you lose control something is wrong (maybe with you...jk)

If it's straightline wobble of the rear it's most likely a blown strut. Happend on my car, you hit even the smallest bump on the freeway and the rear would fishtail a little. Not enough to move the tires but could deff feel it and see it from behind.

yea all of this is happening when i drive in a strait line. I can hit lose gravel or a rough bridge going 20 miles an hour and the rear end of my car feels like its fish tailing everywhere. In the rain it is practically undriveable. I put new tires on it not even a month ago and got it aligned and that didn't help. It just wears the tires out and i'm back at square one. But thanks for your alls help.

As for Elchicoloco86 I'm not that dumb hunny! :screwy: who in their right mind would ask a question that would need an answer like slow down? I know somethings wrong with my car and its not my driving. Unless they all slide in the rain going 20 miles an hour.

Look at the rear strut.
Is there any oily looking stuff on it? If so its blown.
