01 mgm check engine light

today i bought a 2001 mgm ls 96000 miles on it.it has a check engine light on for code p1401 manfacurer contrl auxiliary emission controls.im not even sure where to start on this.anyone know what this code is?

Sounds like a bad DPFE sensor, check yours to see if it's made of metal or plastic, the metal ones are known to go bad........Replace with factory dealer part, the aftermarket ones are junk...............

makin sure im right the dpfe is the egr pressure sensor right?

yup, your model should have two hoses going into it.
