Guess if you can afford it in the first place it doesnt matter what happens.....

Actually, only 399 were made.

So far, from my count there's I believe 390? left. I know there's been a few that have been wrecked, most notibly was the one here in Southern California where that drunk dude wrecked it on Pacific Coast Highway doing 100+mph and hit a telephone pole and the car broke into two pieces and he walked away. I believe the car was stolen or something, I don't remember the particulars.

Pretty impressive though, thing was shattered.

So what's this about Eddie Griffith? He wrecked one? Was it for this latest comedy I see being advertised Redline? What a joke that's going to be.

Damn, that guy is lucky to be alive, you can see that the car was cut in half JUST behind the cabin, so he walked out unscaved...
But man, yet another masterpiece destroyed.

And by the way, isn't it spelled Eddie Griffin?

I seem to remember them making a 400th Enzo and giving the profits to the SE Asian Tsunami relief fund, but originally there was only supposed to be 399.

KiillaKam..Thnx for the spell check:wink:

As far as me saying 400. It was just what the local news guy said. From what i saw he was driving it in a contained area not really going that fast and he slammed into one of those highway seperater walls. There was a camera guy right on the other side of the wall and it didnt even looked like he jumped...he wanted to get the up close pic I guess.:screwy:

At the end of the bit on the news a couple of camera guys were talking to Eddie and the last thing I heard him say was he couldnt drive (jokingly)

Everytime I watched the replay it got more painful to watch...

It was no where near as wrecked though as the one the Stig posted...Whew! how did he walk away from that.....

Eddie gained notoriety for crashing a rare Ferrari Enzo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_Enzo) while practicing for a charity racing event on March 26, 2007. He walked away completely unscratched, but the rare, $1.5 million Enzo was damaged beyond repair. [1] (http://newsmax.com/archives/articles/2007/3/27/83605.shtml) The owner of the Ferrari, producer Daniel Sadek, said he had "mixed feelings" about the crash. "I'm glad Eddie came out of the crash okay but my dream car got destroyed," according to the BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6500867.stm). When asked by reporters his reaction to the crash, Griffin laughed and exclaimed, "Brother's good at karate and all the rest of that, but the brother can't drive". [2] (http://www.suntimes.com/entertainment/people/314781,griffin032707.article) Contrary to popular belief he is not a SCCA licensed [3] (http://www.scca.com/member/search=?griffin=sessionID=273070783) driver, although he has competed in several amateur races.

I just got my hands on that video minutes before you posted this up. This video clearly shows that fellow Eddie had not even the slightest idea of the cars power, and found out the hard way.
From the looks of it, it looked like he paniced when the cars wheels locked up as he headed for the barrier.
Sad to watch and see such a great piece of machineary get wrecked by wreckless driving. :banghead: When will people learn? :disappoin

Oh, he def. panicked all right. I wonder if he could cover the cost of a replacement or not...Undercover Brother wasn't that big was it...

He'll pay with the money that'll come to him from Redline, which also wont be much... However, enough to cover those costs, I bet. :grinno:

Saw the video... and all I can say is LOL.

Talk about worlds biggest understeer... poor car.

Now we all have to go see that movie and help out so that Eddie can pay for the car. I think we might have to go see it like 8 times though......in the same day........for 8 days!

You know what gets me, who the fuck puts the cones that close to a wall?
Clearly whoever layed out the course has no effing clue. Ive never been to a SCCA event.....or amature non-SCCA affiliated event where a wall, fence, tree ect was that close to a bend!

I dont feel bad for the owner, quite contrary I think the asshole deserves to loose his Enzo.
That mutherfrakker willingly destroyed a Porsche Carrera GT in the movie.
Personally if given the option id take the Carrera GT over the Enzo any day, wierd I know but I just like the Carrera better.
So yeah, thats what you get for taking your Carrera for granted! now you have no Carrera and no Enzo! HA!

Now that I look at what you said, I went back to see the video clip again to see how the cones were set up, and I must say that I have never noticed how close they actually are to the barrier.
Now this only makes me have deep thoughts, "who's fault was it?". Because the cones were set up by someone experienced, and were set up in a really bad way.
On the other hand, Eddie is NOT an experienced driver, and therefore was unaware of what was coming up ahead, so I don't think you can fully blame him for it.
But, it all comes down to - yet another Enzo was "violated," and in the end it doesn't really matter who's to blame.

Trust me dude, you dont need a Enzo to loose it in a corner. Ive been to loads of AutoXes and Ive seen Sentras and Miatas loose it worst then that.
The wall should not of been there regardless of the difficulty level of the corner.

This reminds me of both that video you're talking about and when the guy drove his Ford GT through a parking post. Carbon Fiber for everyone!!

i felt bad after watching that, but yea that course was terribly layed out

they were doing this for a charity event while promoting their new movie, but man with all the publicity its getting, on cnn, the news, extra, internet, he's probably generated enough revenue to fix the busted car already

and yea, the producer or director or whatever donated his own CGT to crash, wtf, it doesnt even look that good, he wasted the beautiful porsche

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpVQa--1STo heres the vid of the CGT, womp womp

i kinda agree with you on this, but I'd take the Enzo, sell it for 1.5 mil, then buy a 500K house, 500K CGT, and still have 500K to do whatever

Okay so where is this cone you're talking about?

in the vid where he crashes, there is a course laid out with cones, on one of the swooping right hand turns there is a safety wall maybe 10 feet away from the apex of the turn, i mean, wtfx ?!?!?

at least thats what i think everyone is talking about

Hey, I would take the Enzo at first too. But all I'm saying is it's not a car im passionate about so I rather gain some money off of it, and get something more beneficial from it. :grinno:

Yes, the post with the pictures is a crash someone claimed happened somewhere around their area (sorry, don't remember who posted that one, and I'm too lazy to go back out and check now.)
But yes, two very different crashes indeed. Far as we know, Eddie's Enzo can be fixed to some extent, where on the other hand the one from the pictures... Well, not so much of a fixing process that can be done there... :shakehead

Yes, they're two different incidences... I just posted the pictures of the other Enzo crash just because I'm effin bored and it was relevant.

The Enzo.. safest car ever?

^^^ I'm glad you posted the highway crash pictures. I needed to see that after watch Eddie hit the wall. Totaled is totaled but the highway crash is more impresive....
