Brake light problems

Hello all, new to this site. Hope someone can help me out.
'97 Grand Am GT had the nose removed in an accident. Took the front fascia and bumper right off. Minor ding to the passenger side fender and hood. Replaced the bumper and plastic fascia, tried all lights, turn signals, etc and no turn signals or brake lights. These all worked before the crash, now they don't. I can understand the right turn signal not working because this head light assembly is banged up. The headlights do work, low, high and daytime running lamps. Tail lights work, but not brake lights.
I found a Chilton wiring diagram that seems to indicate that the brake lights and turn signals all go through the turn signal/hazard flasher. Is this correct? Is this flasher unit located up in the front under the hood and so could have been knocked loose or damaged in the crash? I checked the fuses and they appear OK. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
