Will not turn over

On several different occassions my daughter has had problems starting her Jetta. The battery is good. When you turn the ignition switch..nothing...a couple of times it eventually started but now will not start at all. How can I trouble shoot this?

Sounds like a bad ignition switch, very common issue with vw's
