Hi everyone, haven't posted a finished model in quite a bit. This is the latest one that I completed which is meant to replicate someone's car :)

Just like the owner of the 1 to 1 car, I wanted to keep it clean and stock but also get that JDM look. The car is painted with automotive paint and 2 part clear coat. Suspension has been lowered and mounted on resin cast mugen RNR rims (I know these are pretty rare)

Let me know what you guys think, any comments and feedback is welcome thanks!

Does look clean, one suggestion would be to paint the lower grill flat black. Great shine on the paint.

I agree, looks very clean but the grill painted black would really bring out that JDM look. one thing I would try would be some smaller tires for those wheels so they would not look like there sticking out just a bit. Looks really nice though.

I see you also had the signature "a-pllar break" that curses ALL hasagawa EG HBs, I have just gotten used to glueing reinforcement styrene behind that area now so it does not break. I have built 5 or 6 of these so I know all about it, lol. you should try it next time you build one of these (if you do).

thanks for the nice words guys. I would have painted the grille black as well but I'm actually building this for someone and his grille is not painted as well :D

thanks for the tip mean b16! I actually do have 2 more with the signature a pillar break. Can you post some pics of what the reinforcement looks like and how thick is the styrene that you used? I actually had to use the stock hasegawa tires (which is why they are so skinny). Any tires you can recommend for my next build? I will be using the same rims.

looks great. how did you manage to lower it ? did you cut the wheel wells? good choice on the rnr's. got any pics of the interior?

thanks guys, here's the only interior shot I have of it. Its pretty basic except for the recaro SR3s from a DC2 integra just like the owner's car :)

resin cast the rims myself for my own use :)

I dont have any pics on hand right now (i'll try to post up soon) to show you the thickness of the styrene but it is pretty thin, maybe between 1/4-1/2 the thickness of the A-pillar. you can't go too think or the windshield won't fit as well. The tires I always use on my Hondas are the ones in the Revell civic and integra line, they should fit your mugen replicas just right I would think

one question, are those cast from an RX-7 kit?? I have a few sets laying around that look just like that:wink:

lemme know if you are interested in selling a set or 2 of the resin rnr's. :)

you have a good eye accord 2k2, they are indeed spoon wings for the civic hatchbacks :)

unfortunately, I have no plans on selling these since they are exact copies of the aoshima rims. Don't want to get into the whole copyright thing.

mean b16, nope no rx7 castings there, just volk racing te37s, spoon wings and mugen rnrs :) yup I was asking about the thickness of the plastic since I was worried about fitting the windshield as well.

Looks great, super clean build! The paint is gorgeous, and you can never go wrong with RNRs. These little kits build up well, great work on it!

Very nice work! The paint looks gorgeous, and the mugens really fit it like a glove.
Congrats for the nice work!

No problem, you can still generously offer them to your fellow forum members... :iceslolan
