shifter broke

Hello I have a 2003 grand am automatic. The shift knob broke on me it was just the plastic part..I was wondering if someone knows if just that can be replaced or if I have to replace the whole linkage?

IF you find one in a salvage yard the handle, top part, comes off by removing the clip ring in the front side of the handle.

I see no need to replace the entire shifter :grinno:

Hey thanks gotter done. I just ended up buying one from the dealer..still needed to know how to get the old off! thanks. From the dealer it was only 40 bucks.
sorry about the double post no one responded in the sierra forum so I tried the silverado. They responded right away.
