'87 RX7 Purchasing Questions what do i do!!!???
This might sound a little pathetic but here we go. I am 19 years old and I am interested in an 87 FC. The current car that I own is a 98 Buick Le Sabre.......... It was a hand me down. Although I am rather green (a newbie) when it comes to cars in general, but I've been interested in Rx7's for awhile now and I'm ready to buy one. But there are some things holding me back. My parents are set on convincing me not to get this car on account of its age and possible unreliability. About the car, its an FC non turbo rx7 being sold for $4900. Its supposedly been in no accidents, its the original owner, has 62k miles on it. To me, it sounds like a car worth checking out. My parents and girlfriend have done a great job at convincing me otherwise though. but still, everytime i go online to look at it, it seems to just call to me. I needed to seek out other peoples oppinions (people who know there stuff). So I guess my questions are, is this a good deal? and do you have any tips on buying this car? or maybe some hints on finding out if he has been taking good care of the car

(Ive read some things about what to look for but i would still rather read it coming from someone who is actuall directing it towards me.)

get the vin number and run a carfax check. if he isn't the original owner, I would walk away. Or at least ask him what he's been doing with this car for the past 20 freakin' years. Did he do his own maintenence? Receipts of parts/work? it seems like "a steal" as much as it seems "too good to be true".
