exhaust ???

Just got the finishing touches done on my friends astro van, put a 350 in it.:) Just wondering what people think about exhaust, it has hooker long tubes on it, so its currently loud, way way to loud. We were thinking 3inch to 2.5 inch reducer flanges then 28inch cherry bomb class packs. But neither of us our sure on howd that will sound. He wants a bass sound not a loud truck rumble, guess he's going for more of the muscle car kind of sound. Any ideas?
