2001 malibu brake rotors

Does anyone know if these just pull off or are they a part of the hub. I did my brakes today and found that these rotors were in horrible shape. Not so much the outer surface but the inner sides. On both of therm the inside of the inner surface is crumbling and getting thin along the edges. Ive done a gazillion brake jobs but never saw corrosion this bad. I plan on replacing them next week. They didnt seem to want to pull off. I didnt hit them with a mallet or anything but usually these things just fall off loose when you remove the wheel and caliper. Are they just stuck?

Thanks. I guess Im lucky as mine lasted to 66,000 miles. From what Ive read this is another common problem with these cars. I found some cheap online. I will have to check to see what my local guy wants for them too.

if the inner pad is worn much more that the outer, you may have a sticking caliper (or caliper pins) that is not allowing the brakes to completely release.

Yes, the passenger side was worn unevenly. The caliper and the pins move freely but the inner wall of the rotor on that side was really thin from inner corrosion so Im figuring it might be a heat issue causing the uneven wear on that side. I will check it all again when I have it apart to change the rotors.

66k on a set of rotors is pretty darn good! I started using metalic pads a couple of years ago and my rotors have been trouble free.

They do put a lot of dust on the wheels, I don't mind cleaning em though. It's better then the dreaded wheel shake of messed up rotors.
