Backhoe rental

Went to the rental place the other day to rent one of those small backhoes- do some work on my yard.
Guy tells me the tblazer isn't worthy- I told him he must be thinking of the small one, as this one has factory spec for towing way over what his little backhoe weighs, even with the trailer. Besides that, it's a total of 3 miles to my place.

He says for $70 EACH way , he'll bless me with his presence and deliver it, on his schedule.
Found the same problem at HomeBoys Depot too- what the hell is going on here?

my TB is rated for 6200 lbs towing capacity. Yo are also towing with coil spring suspension which isn't very stable at 6000 #s Be careful.:smokin:
NOTE: Your vehicle may require additional special equipment to tow the maximum trailer weights listed here. The weight-carrying hitch limit for TrailBlazer is a 4,000-lb. trailer with 400-lb. tongue weight. Weight-distributing hitch and sway control required over 4,000-lb. trailer weight.

Trailering TRAILBLAZER

Maximum trailer weight ratings are calculated assuming a base vehicle, except for any option(s) necessary to achieve the rating, plus driver. The weight of other optional equipment, passengers and cargo will reduce the maximum trailer weight your vehicle can tow. See your Chevy dealer for additional details.
GCWR: The Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) is the total allowable weight of the completely loaded vehicle and trailer including any passengers, cargo, equipment and conversion. A properly equipped tow vehicle and trailer at the maximum GCWR should be able to accelerate and merge with traffic, climb typical interstate grades at highway speeds, handle the combination on most road surfaces and stop adequately within a reasonable distance. The GCWR for your vehicle should not be exceeded. USING GROSS COMBINATION WEIGHT RATINGS (GCWRs) TO DETERMINE ENGINE, TRANSMISSION AND REAR AXLE RATIOS: You can use your desired GCWR calculation to determine the powertrain you will require to tow a specific trailer with your TrailBlazer. The last column to the right in the chart above shows the maximum allowable GCWR based on all available TrailBlazer engine, transmission, and rear axle combinations. The GCWR includes the total loaded weight of both TrailBlazer and the trailer.

NOTE: Trailer tongue weight should be 10 to 15 percent of total loaded trailer weight (up to 750 lbs.). Addition of trailer tongue weight cannot cause vehicle weights to exceed Rear Gross Axle Weight Rating (RGAWR) or Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). These ratings can be found on the certification label located on the driver door or doorframe. Base cooling system includes all content required to attain maximum trailer rating. No optional cooling equipment available.

Left out what does the backhoe weigh, for an appropriate answer.

If the mini backhoe and trailer exceed ~5000lbs (bet it's darn close) you would be exceeding the specs of a trailblazer. The owner is just trying to protect himself from law suits in the event (God forbid!) you get in an accident while tugging his equipment.
