Whats up man, welcome to the forums.
Well, since cams dont have bearings and the piston is slapping around, my guess is he meant he spun a rod bearing and the piston is possibly slapping the head. If thats the case, you pretty much better get used to operating with one arm and one leg. If it is in fact a spun rod bearing and the piston is hitting the head (doesnt always happen to my knowledge, just when the head is really decked) your motor is pretty much toast. Chances are the block and crank have been worn beyond service limits and a head thats had a piston bouncing off of it is pretty much junk. My advice to you would be to have a mechanically inclined buddy rip it apart for you and assess the damage. Its possible the engine is still machinable, but its also possible its junk too. If you have to pay someone to take it apart, rebuild it, and/or drop in a new one its going to cost a lot no matter what so I hope you got a great deal on that car.

you'd prolly do best to buy a new 4g63 motor whereever you can find one maybe on ebay.

kinda expensive but you can resell have the parts you don't need.

i just dropped the car off yesterday and the mechanics house hes tearing it down today and tomorrow. i really really hope that i dont have to replace the motor like you were saying. the sound that the motor is making isnt consistent and it coming from the top of the motor. it starts out with no noise and about ten to fifteen secs later i comes and goes sometimes its real loud other times its not. oh and i only paid $300 for the car and it has a greddy turbo, hks blow off, new injectors , fuel rail and a fuel pressure regulater

also since im ripping the motor out a couple of people are sayin i should go ahead and replace the clutch with a stage three because awd's are nasty on the clutch. should i heed his warning about this issue?

if you got the cash then yea upgrade the clutch it will save a ton on labour. for 300 bucks that is a real steal I must say he coulda parted out his car and make a ton more than that. But hey good job.
