transmission fluid change

changed the filter and transmission fluid in '04 cav-2.2 automatic.all went well,read the posts on this process.haynes says check level on passenger side of trans near oil drain plug.i found it,But the EXACT same bolt and hole that allows trans fluid to drain(some one posted a good while back of that one on front of trans on driver's side).why two,the front one though will keep draining the fluid when the one by the oil drain plug stops dripping.could the front one be to drain alot of it off before pulling the pan off?
