Concept El Camino

I have been looking around and seen a few people with ideas for a new ELKY, and decided to give it a shot. I based the front on the new stylish Camaro, and went with the classic rear quarters from the late 70's early 80's. I am thinking maybe a change or two in the back end would be nice...but figured why mess with a good thing. I must say though..nothing beats to late 60's style on these cars. I realize it needs wheels... so please no comments on this issue.. it was just a quick sketch. Hope you like.

Pretty interesting! It'd be pretty cool if they did a new El Camino.

That's because the SSR was hugely over priced. 'Coarse if they did a new El Camino they'd probably over price it too.

yeah thats a good point... the SSR did not sell well.. but if they went back a little with a more retro-look I am sure it would do better. If you think about it... the Subara Baja didnt sell too bad. And in my opinion its ugly. So hard to say. I have also read opinions on this matter. Alot are saying GM is scared to mess with a good thing.... reminds me of Ford bringing the Thunderbird back..for what 2 years????:banghead:

looks pretty good, id buy one

Nice design idea, and I think it could sell if it has a real useable
"truck-style" bed in back. Not an odd sized trunk on the SSR.

the SSR was really ugly IMO. your concept looks pretty good, i think it would do okay if it were to go in production
