Anyone try and pull the engine out the front

1996 Transsport.....
I am looking at this whole get the engine out problem and there has to be a better way than dropping it out the bottom.
I am thinking of a frontal extraction. Of course this will require cutting and welding of the rad support but I do not see any other show stoppers.
Wisdom is always welcome, so lets have at it.

by the time u cut and weld u might as well drop it from the bottom it's not that big of job as it's made out to be 4 fram bolts ur 2 ball joints and 2 tire rods and axles and steering knuckle sounds like alot but it goes pretty fast i did that all last april lol in a garage with a set of chain falls. thats my though

I saw a 90 Trans Sport in the junkyard whose engine (3.1) had been lifted out the top. It didnt seem to damage the van from what I could tell. Who knows about the engine.

UPDATE...
While working out another problem, I noticed some very untidy welding at the rad support/wheel well connection point. It looks like the previous tech had removed the engine out the front. If they did it, I can do it.
