ya so sorry in advance for starting a new thread but i knew noone would respond to the other one anymore. Ive thought about it and did the math and Im going to have to change up my requirements in a car a bit:
$8-10k
good mpg
good on insurance
instead of looking for a fast car, im more leaning towards a nice car, fully loaded, nice comfortable interior etc..
reason im changing it is because I found out that to get good insurance rates i need 3 years saying im paying my insurance (which i was) but for some reason or another the payments were being shown as coming from my dad (when i first started paying i was paying through him and we forgot to change it :S ) so if i were to get a fast car now, the insurance rates would be insane).
So im more leaning to wards a nice sleek looking car with a nice interior and what not, while not being a complete slug lol.
I was concidering getting a new cavalier thats fully loaded, but i was kinda hopeing to find something other than a j-body.

Possibly a Toyota Avalon or camry? Are you highly concerned with maintenence costs/reliability? If not, consider an Audi A4. Volkswagen passats may be a good alternetive to an audi if insurance is too high. Consider the Saturn L300/LW300 with all the options too (can have heated leather, power everything, moonroof, many airbags, trac. control, abs and more). Most likely really good on insurance and are pretty cheap but may be a slug compared to others, i dunno; V6 rated at 182 horses, 190 lb-ft torque.

I am kinda concerned with reliablity and stuff, its gunna be my DD. Im thinking of maybe a Honda civic, or possibly an Acura 1.7 EL, doesn't need to be anything fast, im more looking for luxury kinda ie// power everything, leather, heated seats etc.. the fun stuff :P Its gunna be a cruising car, i never race so dont need it overly fast. If i did get a honda id get a 5 spd, that way its atleast a LITTLE fun to drive lol :P

I don't know much about acura's except they're honda's luxury line of cars.
For manual tranny options, the maxima gives you everything luxury wise if it's fully loaded (GLE i believe) plus available with a stick. Reliability is generally good: they're no Hondas by any means though. Saabs are another option. They are like Audis in terms of reliability and maintenence, but many are pretty luxurious and they are pretty fast cars. Or maybe a Subaru Legacy GT sedan/wagon? Kinda more "basic" luxury but it ain't no slug compared to other 4 bangers, really fun to drive with stick, it's a reliable engine that is easy to work on (God bless Subaru engineering) and you get "the beauty of all-wheel drive."
