I have a 95 neon auto trans with no park. When I move the shifter from park to rev ,rev picks up just before it should , and so on for each gear slot on the console . When I put it in park it won't catch . The trans shifts fine driving, just no park . Can anyone help ? Or should I keep using the parking brake and a brick under the rear wheel ? :grinno: Thanks for any ideas .

My guess would be that your shifter mechanism has 'slipped' a little, and when the lever shows it is in park, the control shaft going into the tranny is not really rotated far enough by the shifter cable. This can happen when the outer sheath of the shifter cable skids a little in the clamp near the tranny - or it can happen from the other end, the end hidden under the console.
I dont know what the directions are for doing the adjustment, but trial and error might work. Make sure the shifter shaft going into the tranny isnt getting stiff from corrosion where it enters the tranny case. This is hidden under the battery tray on mine.
