going to the track 2night @ dinwiddie dragstrip in Va. I have to know for myself what the true 1/4 mile time is before the car is gone.

heres what I got!(its not much)

gutted crx 88 dx
b16a1
ys1 (non lsd)
k&n air intake (not cold air)
chiped ecu (v-tech @ 4800/redline around 8400)

I'll post the time slip 2night sometime, what time do you think it will run.
I dont know what my reac time is but I'm no slouch

in that race (the one in the vid) I think he ran a 16.38 w/ a .387 reac time , that was his worst run of the night, all night he was running very close to me, but he didn't beat the 15.21.

ha. thats what i thought. lol. exactly what my friend ran with his b16. it was a gutted crx. with a short shifter and strait pipe 2.25. loud and annoying. nice work tho. everyone says high 14's for a b16 in a crx but it aint happening so much anymore unless you have a blessed motor. try a clutch as your next mod. it helps a bunch from first to third.

i never really heard of b16 crx's being in the 14's too much. maybe in a HF crx or STD hatch.

Way back in the day (5-6 years) it was common. Heck, I was ably to hit 14's in my stock B20. But like what was said earlier, the motors nowdays are tired, beat up, before they are installed.

I'm wondering if the engine was dynotuned or street-tuned. There's a big difference.

And let's not forget the driver is a big guy - 260lbs. That's almost like two guys sitting in the car.

I was hitting low 14's when i swapped and probably could have hit high 13's if I practiced launching more. But I had pulleys, clutch, flywheel, etc...and it was tuned by a guy so good he could tune 10 hp from a turnip. Stock internals on my b16.

Where was tuning anywhere mention in the OP's mod list? He said it was chipped for lower vtec crossover and redline at 8400....which the redline part doesnt really make sense. He said nothing about a socketed ecu that is flashable.
