All kits are bad!
All kits need upgrades to be as detailed as we'd collectively like!
All kits omit details!
All kits have errors!
All kits will require us to spend a lot of money on tools and parts and details and supplies to complete them!
And paint too!
It's a conspiracy!
Because all kits suck!
...
Just build it.

Who was it who said 99% of everything sucks? Whoever he was, he was on the right track.
But it ain't all bad. For instance, the Fisher Porsche 917/30 kit I bought last week doesn't suck. It is freaking awesome! :)

If only someone would push Fisher to do more car's kits than Guitar or f#####ed aircraft I'll have some chance to buy a 312P but I can't find anywhere: but I agree Phil: it deserve, for the ratio quality/price. I'll say also a hiro kit sucks, also if you need no AM parts (who said? I spent 40-50 bucks in bolts in my current hiro LOL)

I seriously doubt Fisher will ever release another car kit, I understand he is having more success with his aircraft kits than he ever had with cars. Thats the main reason I bought the 917/30, had to grab one before Paul discontined it.

Fisher has one of the most successful selling resin airplane kits in history...without LMM and Profil 24 knocking off the same kit...which is the main reason he got out of car kit production.
He possibly will produce a few more Porsche kits because he may vend at the upcoming Rennsport Porsche Reunion in November. Other than that the supply of his kits are drying up in kit distributors remaining stock. So if you like Fisher kits, better get shopping soon.

Yep, all kits suck. Something gets lost between the idea and mass production. The apocalypse is nigh.
I was :screwy: when I read this thread, but then I read another thread, and then it all made sense  Some of the most relentlessly griped-about kits are ones that I've enjoyed building the most :sunglasse

Just build it.
Yeah! and when you finish it you'll can look at it and say: Hey! it wasn't that bad! and I actually have great memories about that one. Maybe if we like things easy we would be die-cast buyers (arrgghhh! spit) :nono: We are modellers, we can fix and enhance anything right?
Great one willimo! :grinyes:
Edit: I read another thread and now I understand the sense of this one... Well I will left my comment anyway with a little addition to be fair. :icon16:

The answer lies within one of these threads young grasshoppa!!:icon16: Truth be told, I could find fault with every kit in my stash and call them crap but I figure it's my duty as a true hobbyist to do the best that I can with what the manyfacturers sell me (excluding the AMT '67 GTO :puke: ) Anyway, I'm gonna go finish some more crap kits and then go to the beach (it's spring break you know:naughty: :evillol: :ylsuper: )

Kits may suck but its down to the skills of the model maker to turn them into something good.
'Polishing a turd' is actually something that can be achieved in model making!

what confuses me is that on one hand, some people like to mark a difference to being a "model maker" and a "kit assembler".
surely if you're a "model maker" problems in kits don't matter.

I don't understand what importance this thread has? A thread about a bad trader gets locked but this one is allowed to stay open? I really don't get it. I know this has to do with the SC430 thread and the comments could have been added there.
I agree with what is said and have maintained all along that "sometimes you have to model" I work in the service industry and have come to realize that nobody will ever be completely happy with anything.
Just my .02 cents.
Mike.

I really understand what you mean mike. I had something to say about that bad trades thread but both were closed so I followed one of the moderators suggestion and send the moderator a message. Course nothing happened afterwards and those people on here who are honest, friendly, and want to be helpful are still vulnerable to getting suckered.
As for the kits, yeah they do suck when you follow their instructions. I've never liked how stock cars looked, especially Revell's. This hobby's a waste of money. Then again, golf requires spending money, the batting cages require spending money, buying a camera to make then post video on U-tube requires spanding money. All hobbies are the same. I personally dont care. This conspiracy's kept me out of trouble. I cant afford to make a real car but this hobby allows me to make all the cars I want and how I want them. I've always been into building things. I see this as the beginning to what I hope will lead me to making props and miniatures for hollywood movies. However, lately that S&H has forced me to dig deep into my pockets. OUCH!
