A Few Questions

Weather is getting better, so I'll be messing around with some stuff... I figure I'll put all questions in 1 post...
1) My power antenna is shot.... I bought a universal, which the guy said would work... I read the directions, and it said 'newer' fords need an extension cable(not included of course).... Dont have it with me but, how much will I need from the antenna to the radio....
2) Driver side power lock switch is shot... Whats the most common problem with these?? Should I try to clean it, or probably just needs replacing??
Also any big dont's when removing the door panel??
3) I'm gonna put some speakers under the carpet, under the back window... Whats the easiest way to remove it??
