I just wanted to clarify something that i was told about brake rotors. What i was told was that if i upgrade to drilled/ slotted rotors on my 92 VR-4 that i will need different calipers becuase with the holes or slots that stock calipers won't press evenly. I never heard that from anyone else but I had to ask. I know that I will need new brake pads either way with new rotors. So, what i'm asking is, is this info i was told true or false???

I have drilled rotors on my Talon with stock brakes. The stock brakes on my Talon are identical to NA 3s brakes. Whoever told you that needs slapped.

complete BS.

the only thing you need to know about drilled+slotted rotors is that theyre are more prone to cracking. If your not planning on using them for autocross or driving down pike's peak, it shouldnt be an issue, but definitely be aware of the increased risk, especially if you drive hard.

if your worried about the cracking, go slotted only. still slightly more risk than solid, but less than drilled and slotted.

If the rotors are cross drilled or slotted, but made from teh same sized blank rotors, it wont make a difference.

Only way you need new calipers, is if you are using the wrong sized rotors.

Dunno who told you that, but I'd steer clear of them for automotive advice in the future.

Thanks for the good info. I pretty much had a feeling that all that rotor stuff he was telling me was BS but i just had to make sure you know.
