Hi

2000 Elantra 155,000kms. Gauge is not working right, never goes to full and drops quite quickly.

On my GM van i added a bottle of fuel cleaner and it now works fine.

Anyone have any experience with this problem.

thanks

You're not alone with this problem. The gauge on my '01 Elantra does a similar thing, rarely goes all the way to full. It usually stops at about 3/4 full and seems to function okay after that.

Haven't found a solution yet - sorry.

You probably need to get a new sending unit (i.e. fuel pump). If the rest of the pump is working okay, it probably isn't worth the expense.
