Hey I have a 1997 cavalier RS with a 2.2 L automatic. I will soon be getting a 2001 Cavalier with a 2.4 L and a 5-speed. I am looking to pull out the 2.2 auto and drop the 2.4 manual in but I need a little help and info on doing it. and if anyone has any info on the easiest way to convert my car to a 5-speed from auto it would be appreciated. I'm getting the whole 2001 for 300 bucks. also could i just take out the wiring harness to run the engine out of the 01 and put it in my 97. Thanks

Pull out everything i am in th process and there is alot of hidden stuff so if your gettign a complete car take it all the wiring has changed and sensors to save the hassle do it right and you wil have to cut a hole or 2 in the fire wall for the clutch for one and then for the cables for the shifter. eve n the throttle cable is different lengthand mounting the pdedal under the dash is achore i just pulled the whole dash. I plan on starting the change over next month

Thanks I appreciate it. Actually I just found out its another 2.2 thats in the 01. Not a 2.4. Im still plannig to put that 2.2 in mine cause of less miles. But still converting to stick
